| Vargas' Former Manager Arrested, Froch Still Noncommittal |
|
Vargas realized something was amiss when one of his bank accounts was empty. It is alleged that Pecora stole approximately $400,000. In other boxing news, Carl Froch is still dragging his feet on choosing a venue for his upcoming fight wtih Arthur Abraham. It appears the only place Froch is interested in have the Stage three Super Six bout is Nottingham, England (where Froch resides), Canada, or the United States. Froch believes he won't be able to get a fair shake in any other European locale. Many fans of sports betting have suggested that Froch is not the same fighter since his bout with Mikkel Kessler, and this dragging of feet suggests a fighter lacking the confidence in his abilities. Indeed, after Froch's first two outings in the super six tournament, many are suggesting he has good reason to lack such confidence. Froch has looked flat and hesitant to engage thus far. In more Super Six news, Andre Ward will look to dispatch late replacement Allan Green in the final fight of the second stage of the Super Six tournament. Ward is the heavy betting favorite in this fight, and he should be able to deal with Green easily. While Green does have speed comparable to Ward's, his defense is suspect, and he will most likely get battered over the course of the fight. |
