Boxing Betting – Pacquiao, Marquez Square Off For Third Time

NHL odds usually dominate Saturday nights, but on November 12th, boxing will step into the spotlight as the pound-for-pound king, Manny Pacquiao, will meet a familiar foe for the third time as a massive favorite in Las Vegas.

Boxing Odds – Saturday, November 12th

Pacquiao (53-3-2, 38 KOs) is putting up his WBO welterweight title in this catchweight (144 pounds) weight, and he has dominated his last seven opponents. But your price per head bookie will point to his two matches with the fighter who is next on his list; a draw in 2004 and then a split decision four years later in a match that was controversial.

Marquez (53-5-1, 39 KOs) battled Pacquiao at featherweight and super featherweight, so it’ll be interesting to see how he handles him at a heavier weight. Marquez holds the WBA, WBO and The Ring lightweight titles and he feels he can still hang with Pacquiao at a larger weight, but some are wondering if he can keep his speed. They’ll point to his loss against Floyd Mayweather, when he weighed in at 142 pounds.

Pacquaio comes in as a -800 favorite in this trilogy match, while Marquez is rated at +550, and even though their first two fights were close, Pacquiao hasn’t lost any speed while moving up in weight. Marquez did in the Mayweather fight (either that, or Mayweather made him look really slow), and his power is irrelevant if he can’t keep up with Pacquiao’s pace and that will be different.
