Junior Middleweight Title Fight Postponed

The online betting Junior Middleweight Title fight between Corey Spinks and Cornelius Bundrage has been postponed. Legendary boxing promoter Don King made the announcement on Wednesday, less than two weeks before the fight was scheduled to happen. The original date of June 12 was compromised because King felt a number of different events conflicted with Spinks' mandatory defense of the belt. The contest will go down in the near future, although whether it still happens at the Chaifetz Arena in Spinks' hometown of St. Louis or not has still not been determined, although it is still likely.

One of the major reasons why the boxing betting contest has been postponed was because of the decision for a local radio station in St. Louis to hold a concert on the same day the fight was originally scheduled to be on. "Super Jam 3" is expected to attract a large majority of the same audience the fight would, and King said that he would prefer not to have to compete with the event for its draw. With the high profile fight between Junior Welterweight title holder Devon Alexander and former champion Andreas Kotelnick also scheduled for early August, the smart move may be to add the Spinks-Bundrage bout to the later card, which is expected to go down on August 7 at the Chaifetz Arena. That potential move would make the August 7 card a three-title fight event, with Light Heavyweight champion Tavoris Cloud scheduled to take on Glen Johnson that same night.
